  2. Hello, Thanks for giving the interview “How To Stand Out as a Photographer: Interview with Penny De Los Santos ” on the food photography network.

When you speak about visual story telling it once again strikes a chord and makes me feel all warm inside and encourages me to get back to my roots in Photography, story telling.

Would you mind giving me a few resources to help me ‘see’ better? Where do you go to view the best images? I have my favourites but I would love to hear what yours are.

    with much appreciation.

I made my video for your creativelive event and posted it to facebook. But unless you are my friend you can’t see it! (so I sent you a request!). I tweeted it, but I can’t send you a message, because I follow you, but you don’t follow me!!! Ergggg… this whole technology thing!! Well… it was fun making a video and quite the challenge! Thanks for the push!

Could I be added to your email list please. I tried to do it via the blog but that only brings up a blank page.

  5. Hi Penny,

Great 3 day online workshop; as always I learned so much.

I am seriously considering the workshop in Austin in November, and was wondering if there was a sample agenda? Would appreciate, even a lose one, so that I can make the decision if it would be a good fit. Thanks.

Look forward to hearing back from you.

I love your work Penny! If you ever put together any workshops in Montreal, please let me know. Good luck in NYC.

  8. hi penny, i’m a high school photography teacher (and photographer/photo editor) and currently have a student who is really into food photography. he’s a tremendous kid who can also cook like mad. anyways, he’s a 2nd year photo student and instead of him repeating the course he took last year (the school i teach at only offers 1 intro level photo course!) i sat down with him last month to ask what he wanted to work on this year. he said food. so he’s just starting out learning the basics, has a macro lens and put your site down as an inspiration. any advice for him? i love your approach to having food photography be not just about the food but about the stories/culture/geography/history. anyways, just thought i’d ask directly and let you know there’s a kid in washington, d.c. who really digs your stuff. thx…

    Hello Penny

I missed your live workshop in San Francisco last year and would like to know if you have a schedule of workshops set up for 2012? I would be very interested in attending one here in San Francisco and would like to help you set up one here if by chance that would be a possibility.

I look forward to hearing from you.

    Penny,

I watched your CL workshop and fell in love with your work. Afterwards, I tried to find and read all things Penny. Unfortunately, the well dried up quickly. Your blog needs to be updated much more often. I realize you are a working professional, but some of the busiest and hardest working out there have great social media and internet presences. Maybe it is time for an assistant. I’m available! ; )

  14. What caught my eye was the black & white photography of the Santas. I loved how you were able to capture that moment. I too just got the iPhone 4S and love IG especially on Twitter. I was driving when I saw about 30 men dressed as Santa Claus in Seattle during the holidays, and remembered how I should have taken a picture. But, I was driving and didn’t have a chance to stop to take a photograph. I really enjoyed reading your blog. It’s heartfelt. I liked how you placed your copyright on your pictures. Would you be able to share how to do that for the pictures I take and share on social media? Thank you :)

  15. Good morning from Tanzania,
I’m a high school Biology teacher and part time photographer living/working in Tanzania so my photographic community tends to be in the form of listening to podcasts that I download when we have an internet connection. I just heard your interview on the Candid Frame with Ibarionex Perello and I had to write and say a huge THANK YOU. Your energy and honesty and dedication shine through and I’m left feeling a big kick of inspiration.
One question… you mentioned your photography schooling and working with wonderful editors as a way forward for you. I’m at the point of feeling confident in my photography, getting positive feedback and a few lucky breaks but really unsure in how to permanently step into the next level. Would you recommend schooling or…? A big question but I’m curious about how your education helped you and if you think it was a must to get you where you are today?
Thanks again for sharing your story on the Candid Frame, it was a pleasure to listen to.
    Peter
